Labor Doula Package

includes:

Prenatal visits tailored to your needs.  Sometimes families want private childbirth education classes -- either to supplement or take the place of those provided within the community.  Others want a concise view of labor and birth, which can be a great refresher to second-time parents.  Breastfeeding, creating a birthplan, and basic newborn care are all other topics we can go over -- it simply depends on your wants and needs. Choose an experienced, caring Labor Suport Professional. Jenni Shaver, CD(DONA) will be at your side every step of the way as your pregnancy & birth unfolds. If you have a birthing need that isn't covered by my service listing, contact me to discuss how I can adjust my services to better serve your unique needs.

Labor support at your home hospital, or birth center.  My doula support begins when you wish it to begin.  Some mothers are comfortable laboring with their partner for a while -- others request doula support earlier.  When you decide more comfort or peace of mind will come by having doula support, that is when I will start laboring with you. 

Immediate postpartum support to ensure you and your new one are introduced to breastfeeding.  I will leave when things have settled down and you are ready for quiet time together as a new family.

Postpartum visit(s) where I am available to help with your new breastfeeding relationship, answer any questions you may have, fill in gaps in your birth story, and dote on the newest member of your family.

Contact at any time (before birth though the postpartum period) via telephone and email. 

Ongoing breastfeeding support for as long as your breastfeeding relationship continues. I encourage pregnant and new mothers to explore what the area La Leache League meetings have to offer their growing family. 

Written account of your birth story filled with rich details you may have forgotten.

Access to my lending library filled with books on pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and other specialty parenting topics.

Referrals and recommendations to other area professionals such as lactation consultants, breastfeeding support groups, carseat specialists, etc
